City-wide Crusade

September was a busy month as we prepared for an open-air city-wide healing and salvation crusade, a Chihuahua evangelist partnering with our local pastors’ alliance to storm Camargo with the gospel.

Despite nay-sayers quick to remind us of limited resources, God urged us to step out in faith, and He was faithful to provide the means to rent, transport and set up all the workings of such an event. Hundreds of chairs, plus tents, generators and portable bathrooms were pressed into service on a huge empty field used every year by the circus. Truckloads of volunteers swarmed the city to pass out flyers.

On the day before the event, the Chihuahua church rolled up in a semi truck loaded with equipment, and a squad of workers assembled the huge platform, lighting and giant sound system. But the impressive set-up effort paled in comparison to the power and authority of God that swept the fairgrounds as scores of believers joined hands in prayer to invite God’s mighty presence to the crusade!

There in the dark, on an empty plot of ground, the prayers rose… Suddenly town folks began to show up, watching curiously from the sidelines, some coming near to join in or ask prayer for personal needs – and the crusade wasn’t till tomorrow!

God made a wonderful victory in those 3 days, packing the place with folks seeking answers, healing or forgiveness, We won’t soon forget the music of heaven permeating the night air, as folks came forward to be set free from hurts of the past and filled with hope and joy! Camargo will never be the same!
